# About Emolysis

## What it is

Emolysis is the agentic lakehouse for data engineering and analytics. Direct a team of AI agents from your laptop to investigate business questions, develop dashboards, and build and test pipelines for your data platform.

Business users want answers to the questions that matter. Data teams need the definitions, transformations and pipelines behind those answers. Emolysis brings these needs into one development workflow, with the person directing the work and reviewing the results.

Our approach combines local development and testing with platform-specific pipeline templates. Production pipelines run on the customer's data platform. Databricks is the first design-partner focus; Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric are planned.

Emolysis gives people the capabilities of a data engineering and analytics team through a downloadable product.

Underneath is a local-first coding agent for data engineering and analytics, designed for data engineering leads and platform teams who run production data on Databricks, Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric. Most production pipelines follow about ten known shapes, and each shape has a correct form on each platform. Emolysis picks the shape that fits your request, fills a template written for your platform, proves the result with golden tests on DuckDB on your machine, and only then deploys it as your platform's native unit.

What it is not:

- A replacement for Databricks, Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric as your production platform.
- A hosted service that runs your production jobs.
- A replacement for your platform's catalog.

Production runs on your platform, under your account.

## Why Emolysis exists

Data engineering is more templatable than general software. Most production pipelines follow a handful of shapes, and each has a correct form on each platform.

An agent that knows the platform, the shape and the test for it should make far fewer mistakes than one that writes every pipeline from scratch.

## Principles

- Know the platform: Databricks code is written for Databricks, and Snowflake code for Snowflake. Every generated file is tagged with its platform, so it cannot be deployed to another one without an explicit translation step.
- Templates before free-coding: Emolysis picks a shape and fills a template that was written and tested for your platform. It does not write pipelines from scratch.
- Prove it before it ships: Golden tests run on DuckDB on your machine first. A failing test goes back to the template, not to production, and the agent deploys only after a green run.
- Keep production on your platform: Development happens on your machine. Production runs on your platform, under your account, as the platform's own deployment unit.
- Say what leaves your machine: To write code, the agent sends prompts to the AI model provider you choose. We list exactly what goes where on the security page.
- Report status honestly: We describe what Emolysis does in the present tense, label where each part stands, and say what is missing.

## Who makes Emolysis

Emolysis is made by Bandpey GmbH, an engineering company based in Munich, Germany. Bandpey builds AI agents and custom software for business, with engineering that reaches from business workflows to the infrastructure they run on. Emolysis is Bandpey's data engineering and analytics agent.

Bandpey GmbH is led by its co-founder and CEO, Roozbeh Bandpey, an entrepreneur and AI engineer in Munich with more than 20 years of hands-on software engineering. He is a Databricks Solutions Architect Champion and led data and MLOps work at Accenture before building Emolysis. His page: https://emolysis.com/about/roozbeh-bandpey.

## How we work in public

- We describe Emolysis in the present tense and label each part's status until it ships.
- We say what is missing.
- We do not publish numbers we cannot back, or quotes and logos from people who are not users.
- We say exactly what leaves your machine.
