# Can I move a pipeline from one platform to another?

> Yes, as an explicit step in which the pipeline is translated to the target platform's dialect and its golden tests run again.

Yes, with care. Every file Emolysis generates is tagged with its platform and profile version, so a Databricks pipeline cannot be deployed to Fabric by accident.

Moving one is an explicit step: the pipeline is translated into the target platform's dialect, that platform's template for the same shape is filled, and the golden tests run again. A `/migrate` command for the whole step is planned.

Because pipelines are written once in a canonical form and translated at deploy time, the logic carries over; the platform-specific parts are re-rendered and re-tested. See [how Emolysis works](https://emolysis.com/docs/how-it-works) and the [list of platforms](https://emolysis.com/platforms). Databricks comes first; Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric are planned, with no date yet.
